I don't know what you're looking for, but you haven't found it baby, that's for sure.

Guess who made their way back into the blogosphere? Yes, I did it, I caved, and apparently, this disappearing act has reared its unfortunate head... again. I'm not new to the blogosphere (remember the LiveJournal days? Yep, taking it back to the old school), but I haven't blogged in so long, I may as well call myself a newbie.

Why I've decided to get back into blogging was a bit of a new years resolution of sorts. The motivation? I love blogging, and I miss it. That largely has to do with the fact that over the last few months my new obsession has been reading a whole lot of beauty/fashion/lifestyle blogs, and it inspired me to get onto that shiz and start one of my own! This time around, I want to document my year and look back on what my life was like, my tastes, my embarrassing fashion choices, the horrendous makeup spending, and of course, my excessive food consumption, all in the hopes of learning something about myself... and what not to do next time ;) In a way, this will be like what I set out to do with my Instagram, but with words.

So as a 'comeback' post, I have decided to pay homage to the year that was, keeping it short and sweet. As quickly as it appeared, so does it pass by in a flash. Where did the year go? John Lennon once said, "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." And that's exactly what happened in 2012. Lessons have been learned. Foes have been erased. Life has been good. Is that all I have to say? Of course. Sunshine and roses don't come without turbulence and rain. Good doesn't come without disappointments. And guess what? Life is but a journey. Shock horror. Ups, downs, loves, losses. If we didn't experience the circumference of what life brings, then we're not living. Once you learn to understand that, you will learn to accept it and move forward. If there's anything i'll take away from the year that was, it'll be just that.

As 2013 approaches, I will observe the path i've travelled in 2012 with a fine tooth comb, pack those lessons up in my bag, and prepare for the path that awaits. It's exciting, it's uncertain, but that's the whole point.

"Live today like you wish you would have 10 years from now, because in the future, we'll look at the past, and wonder what the hell our problem was. We only get one life. This is it. Live it up."
